💡 What happens when child care doesn’t exist?

The Economy can’t run!

LOUISIANA’S 2nd DAY WITHOUT CHILD CARE

Louisiana’s Day Without Child Care is part of the National Day Without Child Care, a coordinated nationwide movement elevating the essential role of early learning in our economy and communities, with coordinated efforts taking place across 27 states.

On May 12, 2026, Louisiana will host its 2nd Day Without Child Care—a day of advocacy and family engagement convening early learning providers, families, teachers, business leaders, and community members at the Louisiana State Capitol.

With a goal of representing 200 early learning centers across Louisiana, this convening demonstrates how child care functions as foundational infrastructure for our state’s workforce, families, and economy by supporting:

• Workforce participation and economic productivity

• Economic stability for Louisiana families

• Small business sustainability across communities

• School readiness and long-term educational outcomes

• Family and child well-being and stability

This is not a protest. It’s PURPOSE!

This is a unified show of strength—demonstrating that child care is workforce infrastructure.
